The Value of Small, Reversible Changes

A small change is easier to assess because I can keep its purpose in my head while reading the diff. If something goes wrong, there are fewer possibilities to investigate.

I try to separate changes that don't need to happen together. Renaming a module and changing its behaviour in one pass makes both harder to review. There are times when a larger move is necessary, but I don't want size to be the accidental result of tidying everything I touch.
